The Kameda Medical Center K Tower and other projects
We are pleased to inform you of our upcoming lecture sponsored by AIA Japan and the Tokyo Planning Forum. Mr. Walter Muraoka AIA, ACHA, Principal Architect for healthcare architecture projects at Architects Hawaii Ltd. (AHL), will present his work in the lecture "Healthcare Planning and Design: The Kameda Medical Center K Tower and other projects." The presentation will mainly focus on the design process of the K Tower facility, which is the last phase of a 5 phase 15 year master plan. The 13 story building contains 335,000 sq ft of floor area, 296 single care patient rooms, 7 ORs, and 6 LDR rooms. Please see below for more details.

Walter Muraoka, AIA, ACHA
As Principal Architect for healthcare architecture projects at Architects Hawaii Ltd. (AHL), Mr. Muraoka is personally involved in all healthcare projects to insure successful delivery. His experience spans 40 years in planning and designing of healthcare and medical facility projects.
As a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA), Mr. Muraoka is certified as being extensively experienced in the highly specialized field of healthcare architecture. He is the only ACHA member in Hawai‘i.
To keep AHL and its clients in the forefront, Mr. Muraoka participates in numerous national and international healthcare planning and design conferences and symposiums. He has been the keynote speaker at a number of international conferences related to healthcare architecture and planning. His project experience at AHL primarily focuses on Hawai‘i, the Pacific Rim, and Asia.
Mr. Muraoka’s expertise includes master planning, programming, facility planning, and design for complete replacement, expansion, and renovation projects. His sensitivity to clients’ needs and awareness of changes occurring in the healthcare delivery process places him at the vanguard of his profession in designing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities.
