Attendees:

1. Planning preparation of Nov. 17 event: Urban Regeneration, Inclusivity, Environmental Sustainability and Economic Development (Geeta)

1. Event to be bilingual. Advertisements to be in both English and Japanese. Simultaneous two-way translation fees of 400,000 yen to be added to budget. Jun to invite Mr. Yamamoto of Mori Biru, and ask if they can sponsor the translation.
2. Honorarium of 50,000 yen to be given to speakers
3. Shinichiro Fujisawa of Shimizu Corp. to be removed from Panel list. Panel number to be five for both morning and afternoon sessions.
4. Hisaya to coordinate advertising materials (poster and leaflet).
5. Japanese text to be proofread by George, Wac, and Daishi

2. Discussion of AIA Japan Design Award Program (Hisaya and Yasu)

1. Award ceremony targeted for end of year, not Nov. 17 as originally planned.
2. Award categories to be Architecture, Interior Architecture, Urban Design, and Unbuilt.
3. At least one AIA Honorary member to be in Jury.
   Committee to recommend jurors to board by email.

3. Discussion of JIA-AIA Japan Agreement to mutually recognize CPD and CES credits. Signing ceremony on October 17th, Confirmation of attendance. (Jim)

4. Confirmation of Nicolai as AIA Japan representative to Northwest and Pacific Region in Spokane (Sept. 26-28). (Jim and Nicolai)

1. Vote for Senior Regional Director: Board endorses Pat Onishi of Hawaii.

5. Affiliate Membership Dues discussion (Jim)

1. AIA Akron’s example distributed. Board to study further

6. Confirmation of Budget (Wac and Jim)

1. Board confirms budget.

7. Confirmation of election process for 2008 Officers.

1. Acceptance for Nominations: Nov. 1 to Nov.27
2. Email Ballot sent to Board of Directors: Nov. 28
3. Vote Due Date: Dec. 5
4. Election Results: Dec. 7 (Board of Directors Meeting/Bounenkai)
5. Reconfirmation of intent to remain as Board member to be sent by email

1. Meeting with Linda Allen, AIA Tennessee President-Elect
   Possibility for student-exchange program discussed.
   No specific commitments at this time
2. AIA Hong Kong to select International Director Selection, candidates are Grover Dear and Ralf Lerner
