SUMMARY:
Digital Twin is the trending topic in the AEC industry today. Like BIM during the early days, digital twin is a revolutionary idea that is often spoken but not truly understood. At its simplest, the digital twin represents a collection of digital data that represents for the AEC industry, anywhere from a general physical object to an engineering component, to a building. However, some mistake a digital twin to be nothing more than 3D; what people fail to understand is that a creation of a digital twin is intended to have a specific use case. During this presentation we will cover the following:
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Marcus Kim (Autodesk / Executive)
Marcus Kim is an industry BIM expert with over 15 years experience working on and managing the BIM maturity, production, and maintenance of monumental scale architecture and design projects, utilizing the latest digital design processes and technology, with a focus on Enterprise BIM Implementation, VDC and Data analytics. Joining Autodesk in 2008, Mr. Kim has worked with many large international companies, with the mission to effectively advise and steer companies towards BIM business intelligence, through the development of workflows and standards. Currently at Autodesk, Mr. Kim is a Technical Solutions Executive, supporting Autodesk’s manufacturing customers who are actively engaged with implementing BIM for the development, construction, and maintenance of their facilities. Mr. Kim is the author of the Mastering Autodesk Revit for Architecture series (2017, 2018, and 2020), the definitive industry book on Revit and is a frequent speaker at Autodesk University.
