AIA Japan Board Member James Scott Brew returns with another edition of My Japan Story SLAM!, an engaging live storytelling event that brings together voices from across Tokyo for an evening of connection, reflection, and community.

Taking place on April 23, 2026 (7:00–9:00 PM) at Baird Beer Nakameguro Taproom, the event features up to ten storytellers sharing personal, true stories—told live, without notes or props—centered around this edition’s theme: “Love Hurts.”

While this is not an AIA-sponsored event, storytelling is deeply connected to architecture—how we communicate ideas, share experiences, and build empathy across cultures. This event offers a unique opportunity for the AIA Japan community to come together, support a fellow member, and engage in a creative and meaningful night out.

With a warm, welcoming atmosphere, strong community focus, and a portion of proceeds supporting local charities, My Japan Story SLAM! is more than just an event—it’s a shared experience.
